Week in Review:
Monday (ok), Thursday (ok), Friday (good), Saturday (ok) - Ashtanga
Tuesday - Pilates (reformer)
better week: adding one extra cup (3 cups total - 2 servings) of green smoothie most days this week (tried for all) helped DRAMATICALLY!
My knee and hamstring/glut pain was MUCH improved. I didn’t have any extra protein anything which had only seemed to add weight. WOW! It’s incredible.

My Green Smoothie Experience - About 4 years ago I made a commitment to practice pilates consistently - I had studied ballet and modern dance for about 12 years when I was younger. I have had jobs that kept me active and I took yoga and pilates sporadically throughout the years.
When I made my commitment to pilates 4 years ago I found that I had physical issues like constant muscle soreness (hips and knees mostly) and I had a difficult time with having enough energy to do my best throughout a one hour class.
I started with yogurt smoothies which helped with energy but not with muscle aches. Somehow I managed to find Victoria Boutenko and her wonderful website (see above). I bought an expensive blender (Blendtec - cheaper than Vitamix) and I have been drinking greens smoothies almost daily for all this time. The effect then was dramatic as well - I went from having constant pains and aches to NONE!
Several months after beginning the smoothies I found that I didn’t need all four cups and I reduced my serving from 4 to 2 cups with no problem.
It just hadn’t occurred to me to increase my green smoothie serving amount for the new aches from Ashtanga. Last week I ran into someone who suggested that I stop the protein and eat more fruits and veggies, so I just thought I’d try to double my servings. GREAT idea.
I am not entirely better yet, but I am feeling confident that I soon will be. You really ought to try it if you’ve had these kinds of issues.
